Each country in the world has own pattern of economical cycle due to the different nature of the macro/micro economic factor. Like agriculture-based economy, natural resource-based economy, manufacturing based economy and few more. But, most of the economy/country’s economic cycle directly, indirectly or at least mildly influence/impacted by global economic trend/cycle.
Throughout the cycle various industries behaves differently. Some do well during recession and some at the peak.
Not an economic expert to advice on which phase we are now (May 22’). Viewing from non-official economic practitioner eye ball, based on inflation rate and slightly reducing growth projection data by US FED & China central bank, we are at peak or a prolonged peak. End of a cycle and beginning of a new one.
As shared above, each industry behaves differently in each phase of the cycle. Since World War 2, we have seen peak & decline of many industries. Construction and manufacturing until 80s, financial in 90s, and wild tech growth post dot.com bubble and healthcare during covid.
With the current cycle already at the peak, do the cycle with begin again in same pattern? Usually, I am person based on facts, and very rarely do predictions. We can imagine but we still cannot predict well. Like, all the predictions humans did in 1980’s & 1990’s about 2020, like flying cars, robots’ dominance just did not happen(yet). But,
Noticing a pattern, the next cycle going to be mixture of several industries with one specific industry Example,
Tech + Manufacturing = EV & Self driving automobiles
Tech + Finance = Fintech, digital currency
Tech + Energy = Green tech
Tech + Agriculture = Smart/vertical
list goes on…. and mega company’s and billionaire’s move acquiring companies from different industry for some reason also catalysing this trend. A collection of companies under one umbrella with multiple expertise.
Of course, each industry will have its own peak. Following the previous cycle. But the peak is not going to be victory of a single industry, it is going to be a combination. Shall give a name for this cycle?
“Technoindustrial cycle”
Not sure if i am going to proud or laugh about this post 20 or 30 years from now. Lolx.
Prediction, based on current trend.
