How to Influence Using Technology

Influence & persuading is an important factor to get buy in of important stake holder of any projects or initiatives in any company even among social circle. And nowadays technology is part of human life from work, socialising, purchasing to even buy food sometimes.

We are the tech consumers, but how to use the same tech to influence our surroundings to get outcome we prefer in certain scenario.

Below are some of the ways I use tech personally for that purpose…

In Career

Prepare quick Proof Of Concept (POC) using simple technology stack and quick resource provisioning methods like in cloud (AWS Services/Azure Services).

Demo the user experience & benefit to project stakeholders. If they say YES, the project in ON. With little bit of effort and small resource allocation, we can influence the stakeholder’s buy in and interest.

Once the projects go-live, will utilise usage tracking facilities like Azure portal, Google Analytics to track user’s usage pattern & overall usage of the product. Later this information can be used to suggest for improvements in the area of demand & convince the business not to invest much more on the areas not seems to be beneficial to users.

In Social Life

Whenever there is opportunity to engage in social work like helping for good cause or engaging in healthy activity like completing milestones by hiking a challenging hill or mountain, will post it in social media like facebook & Instagram.

No to show off for sure, but to show the enjoyment and benefit of the this activity in the hope will reach wider circle of people and influence them to embark in similar beneficial activities. And at same time such influence on other will also will helpful when I myself initiating an activity for a good cause in certain time of my life.

During Investing

When comes to investing, im not an expert. But people believe data than words nowadays.

Will use pre-researched or readily available data in sites like morningstar, seeking alpha, dataroma, CrunchBase, eTorro to convince myself and my family members or even my wife to proof stat I am doing reasonably a sound decision with hard earned money.
