AI & Robotics are NOT optional but a necessity. Why? Both technologies can work independently or integrated to bring greater outcomes. And meet the necessities of all industries.
--Labour Shortage-- Humans become smarter. The new generation does not prefer to work in low-ranked or low-skill jobs to multiple factors like low salary, seeking a fulfilling career, and negative community perspective. And the recent pandemic brings us great resignation and people are quitting unsatisfying jobs. On the other hand, technology is changing fast. A tech skill that is relevant now will be absolute in 18 months on average, but companies need to find people at a rapid pace to replace or grow their workforce to meet the knowledge gap. These factors, make the labour market very dynamic and challenging to sustain, just with human force. More jobs are available, but the unemployment rate is high due to human unwillingness or the company’s preference to hire the right talent. And this creates a labour shortage (fit gap) scenario.
--Resource Efficiency-- With everything becoming more expensive, businesses need to optimize their resources in all aspects of the organization. To produce a maximum outcome with the most optimal resources. A transportation company wants to keep the vehicle condition in the best form with optimal cost to ensure all the vehicles are fully utilized around the clock. A health-related company wants to detect illness indications in advance, provide prescriptions based on available data, and track improvements continuously. Banks need to crunch numbers and keep the financial model and forecast the most up-to-date throughout the year to avoid financial loss and produce profitable annual income for investors. A pharmaceutical company needs a tool to shorten its research and clinical trial turnaround time to meet market demand and new medicines. And the list goes on. All industries have a unique need to optimize their resources for the best outcome. Again, resource efficiency optimization is not possible only with a human workforce and intelligence. Machines and AI make the progress faster, more cost-friendly, and more consistent.
--Pushing Human Limits-- People’s awareness of personal well-being, health, and lifetime value is increased compared to 100 years ago. And it also become a norm and standard regulation for businesses to protect and provide a safe working environment for employees. But certain jobs need to be done in harsh conditions, weather, or location which might push or even not suitable for the human body. Building deep sea internet cables, oil rig welders, underground resource miners, high voltage electricians, frontline soldiers, high rise building construction workers are a few examples of many high-risk jobs with one of the highest fatality rates. Deep-sea research, satellite, and space object maintenance, nuclear plant inspection, deep space exploration, and resource mining are a few areas not suitable for human current body capabilities.
AI & Robotics are NOT optional but growing necessities to improve and overcome the challenges. And make human jobs more meaningful.
