What is the meaning of the phrase ‘Irreversible Value’? This is going to be a microblog that will serve the purpose of reference for my other blogs. According to the Cambridge dictionary, the word ‘value’ is described as “The importance or worth of something for someone.”
Additionally, according to the Cambridge dictionary, the meaning of the word ‘irreversible’ can be described as “not possible to change; impossible to return to a previous condition.”
Now let’s try to combine both words, ‘irreversible’ and ‘value’, and in the end we get, “something important for someone which cannot be changed or not possibly leave without it moving forward”.
Credits to one of the best self-made millionaires in Asia, Kunal Shah. The term, “Irreversible Value” was adopted from listening to one of his speeches. And why is this term considered very important every time I start thinking about creating value with my work, ideas, or projects?
When we create a value, it can be replaced or fade away over time. But when you create an irreversible value, it will stay for a long period (not to say cannot be replaced at all, but will take time). And sooner rather than later, it will become a new standard to follow.
For instance, after Whatsapp, can anyone think of going back to SMS to send texts to someone?
After the invention of the iPod, could anyone think of going back to CD and cassette to store & hear 1000’s of their favorite songs?
You just have been shown a new way of doing things which is much more effective which you cannot leave without moving forward. And you yourself become a self volunteered ambassador of the product or brand. Let’s WhatsApp, Tagged you on Facebook, do they sound familiar? That is ‘Irreversible Value’.
